Friday 23rd February – Onya Bike

The Onya Bike Jazz Band was formed in May 2014 to help raise funds for a charity function at the request of Mal Gaydon who is the current trombonist with the group.
The members are all close mates and have been playing together in various Jazz Bands and groups in Toowoomba over the past thirty years or more. The Band plays mostly traditional and mainstream jazz, Latin, ballads but are willing to please and try anything. at the Toowoomba Jazz Club.

Line up for the night is

  • Mal Gaydon (trombone),
  • Alan Skerman (trumpet and vocals),
  • Camillo Lanzafame (keyboards),
  • Mark Chalmers (bass).
  • Mark Nuss (drums)

And joining the regular guys will be special guests and Eddie and Cherryn -we welcome them to Toowoomba!

Eddie Bray, the Saxman, has armed himself with over 3000 gigs to his credit.  After serving 20 years in the Australian Defence Force Bands, Eddie’s weapon of choice is his beloved Sax and will also play the clarinet.

Cherryn Lomas will certainly put her own stamp on any gig and will enlighten the audience by taking them on a musical journey. Achieving ARIA success in the early 90’s in her duo (Sexing the Cherry), and supporting the likes of Robbie Williams and Take That, Cherryn has forged herself an amazing vocal career both as a solo artist and lead vocalist for numerous high-class bands and enjoyed a recording deal with Sony Music & heads the well-known “Andrews Sisters Tribute”.
