Jim Miller (1926 – 2012) formed this group around thirty years ago. He served in the RAAF during WWII, a period when big bands were very popular. He particularly enjoyed the music of Glen Miller and played this swing style of music with dance bands before forming his own big band. The Jim Miller Big Band continues this tradition and popular tunes from the big band era are always part of the program presented. Since Jim’s passing, the band has broadened its repertoire and even includes a few early rock and roll numbers.
Guest vocalists for the evening’s performance will be Sarah Hales and Carmen Traise. Many of the tunes selected will be suitable for dancing.

ENTRY: TJS Member $15, Non-members $20. Annual membership of Toowoomba Jazz Society is available on the night.
PARKING: Access the car park off Gipps Street or there are parks in front of the bowling green in Ball Street and access via the gate.
ENTRANCE: Up the steps from the car park on the southern side of the building or from the bowling green side. Disabled access ramp on the Western side (Gipps Street) and through the bar.
